“When you face the day that you know your loved one who is living with Alzheimer’s can no longer live safely at home, the choices for trained experienced care are few. We researched facilities and homes throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin before choosing Aspen Acres because of their Hayward location and their specific focus on dementia care. A limited number of residents and large sunlit common areas create a sense of family and home. Meals are homemade daily and customized when requested. Aspen Acres is always sparkling clean with lots of room to roam, always in the greatest safety. The outdoor walkways, green space, and garden patio provide lovely sojourns. The staff makes visits pleasant and comfortable for those of us who are emotional about leaving our loved one. We soon felt like a member of the Aspen Acres family, feeling welcomed to participate on any level and in any activities we wished.”

“Once a spot opened at Aspen Acres Assisted Living, Patricia secured a room and was cared for by the most angelic group of caregiving CNA’s we could have ever prayed for. They and the hospice nurses were with Patricia every step of the way allowing Patricia the most dignified, loving, and caring transition to a better world than we could have ever hoped for. Our family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Aspen Acres for their gold standard team approach to care: the love they gave her daily, the delicious meals, and to the maintenance & cleaning staff for their hard work. But most of all, realizing the important role that family has in caring for their loved one in person; taking the extra time to test us for Covid-19 along with our temperatures; for helping family with window visits during Covid lock downs to talk over the phone; or to video chat at any time.”

“Mom (Lucille Butek) lived to celebrate her 107th birthday. Her last year and a half were spent in the bedroom, kitchen, living room, and garden at Aspen Acres. Her room was so large with such a beautiful view of birds, deer, and any passing woodland friend. Playing piano all her life, Aspen placed her keyboard in the reading area where the Aspen family listened or danced. Note her pretty fingernails on the keys. The special staff cared for her so well. Polishing her nails, making her breakfast whenever she finally got moving, the special games, exercises, activities, events, and excellent food made Aspen so enjoyable. Mom was an avid gardener her whole life and the raised vegetable beds were a joy to her. Sitting outside on the patio next to the wooded landscape was like sitting in her back yard. Aspen was an easy “wheelchair push” to several lovely restaurants. We thank Brian and Rachael for building such a well-planned and caring facility. We have special needs for ourselves and our loved ones as we age, and Brian and Rachael have thought of them all. Thank you so much for creating and giving us Aspen Acres!”

“As my mom aged and became more forgetful, I knew we needed to find a safer place for her. I was worried about this step and her giving up her home and so much of her independence. We scheduled a tour of Aspen Acres and met the staff. I knew immediately it would be a good fit for her and our families. She was able to make friends, participate in activities, have meals prepared for her and enjoy a beautiful room there for over three years. I visited her often, got to know staff and residents well and enjoyed activities along with her. It became her home.”
